  • Partial Shade to Full sun
  • Mature Height : 60 to 80 Feet
  • Mature Spread : Up to 40 Feet
  • Zone : 6 - 10

Plant Care Instructions and Attributes

  • Produces creamy white flowers, sometimes up to 12" in diameter, with a rich fragrance. Blooms May through June, with some blossoms throughout the summer months.
  • Is an evergreen, keeping most (but not all) of its leaves year-round. Yields fruit that is 3‚¬€œ8" long, attracting birds.
  • The root system of the southern magnolia is shallow and wide-spreading. Provide adequate irrigation without leaving the soil wet.
  • If you want a healthy tree with the maximum number of spring flowers, plant your magnolia in full sun. It will also grow in partial shade as long as it gets at least four hours a day of direct, unfiltered sunlight. If you live in the north, provide the tree protection from winter sun.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Growing Zones: 6-10

Mature Height: 60 to 80 Feet
Sunlight: Partial Shade to Full Sun
Mature width: Up to 40 Feet
Botanical Name: Magnolia grandiflora

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
