Description

Triple Crown Blackberry Shrub Fruit is a delicious and nutritious addition to your garden. Grown in zones 5-9, this large fruit is perfect for jams and pies.

Triple Crown Blackberry

Triple Crown Blackberry is a thornless, semi-erect blackberry that is known for its large, juicy fruit and high productivity. It is a relatively new variety, having been released in 2005. Triple Crown Blackberries ripen in mid-summer and produce a continuous harvest for several weeks. The berries are very large, typically averaging 1.5 inches in diameter. They have a sweet, tart flavor and are excellent for eating fresh, baking, or freezing.

Triple Crown Blackberry

Triple Crown Blackberry plants are vigorous and easy to grow. They are hardy in USDA zones 5-9 and can tolerate a wide range of soil conditions. However, they prefer well-drained soil and full sun. Triple Crown Blackberry plants typically reach a height of 6-8 feet and a width of 4-6 feet.

To plant Triple Crown Blackberry plants, dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the plant in the hole and backfill with soil, tamping it down gently to remove any air pockets. Water the plant thoroughly.

Triple Crown Blackberry plants require regular watering, especially during the first year after planting. Water deeply once a week, or more often if the weather is hot and dry. Fertilize the plants in the spring with a balanced fertilizer.

To prune Triple Crown Blackberry plants, remove any dead, diseased, or damaged branches. You can also prune to shape the plants or to control their size. Prune in the late winter or early spring, before the plants buds out.

Triple Crown Blackberry plants are relatively resistant to pests and diseases, but they can be susceptible to anthracnose, rust, and leaf spot. To prevent pests and diseases, inspect the plants regularly and treat any problems promptly.

Here are some tips for growing Triple Crown Blackberries:

  • Choose a location in full sun with well-drained soil.
  • Water regularly, especially during the first year after planting.
  • Fertilize in the spring with a balanced fertilizer.
  • Prune in the late winter or early spring to remove dead, diseased, or damaged branches.
  • Inspect the plants regularly and treat any pests or diseases promptly.

Enjoy the delicious fruit of your Triple Crown Blackberry plants!

Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
