Description

Tifblue Blueberry Bush is a delicious fruit grown in acidic soil, reaching 6-8 ft tall. It thrives in zones 5-10 and is perfect for home gardens.

Tifblue Blueberry Bush

The Tifblue Blueberry Bush is a popular variety of rabbiteye blueberry that is known for its large, sweet berries and heavy production. It is also a relatively low-maintenance and easy-care plant.

Tifblue blueberry bushes are vigorous growers and can reach heights of up to 15 feet. They have a spreading habit and produce dark green leaves. The flowers are white to pale pink in color and bloom in late spring. The berries are typically ready to harvest in midsummer.

Tifblue blueberries are large, round fruits with a navy blue skin and a sweet, juicy flesh. They are excellent for eating fresh, baking, and freezing. Tifblue blueberries are also a good source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

To grow a Tifblue blueberry bush, you will need to choose a sunny location with well-drained, acidic soil. Blueberry bushes prefer a soil pH of 4.5 to 5.5. If your soil is not acidic enough, you can amend it with peat moss or sulfur.

Once you have chosen a location, plant the blueberry bush in a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball. Water the bush well and mulch around it to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilize your Tifblue blueberry bush in the spring with an acidic fertilizer. Be careful not to overfertilize, as this can promote excessive vegetative growth and reduce fruit production.

Water your Tifblue blueberry bush regularly, especially during the first growing season. Blueberry bushes need about 1 inch of water per week.

Prune your Tifblue blueberry bush in the late winter or early spring to remove any dead or diseased branches. You can also prune the bush to shape it and control its size.

With proper care, your Tifblue blueberry bush will thrive for many years to come and produce delicious berries for you and your family to enjoy.

Here are some additional tips for growing and caring for a Tifblue blueberry bush:

  • Plant Tifblue blueberry bushes in groups of at least two for cross-pollination and better fruit production.
  • Protect Tifblue blueberry bushes from birds and other pests with netting or a cage.
  • Mulch around Tifblue blueberry bushes with pine bark, oak leaves, or other acidic materials to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • Water Tifblue blueberry bushes deeply during periods of drought.

With proper care, Tifblue blueberry bushes will thrive for many years to come and produce delicious berries for you and your family to enjoy.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
