Summer Snow Hydrangea/Variegated Hydrangea Plant

Description

Summer Snow Hydrangea - grown in zones 5-9, this stunning plant features variegated leaves with white and yellow streaks. Size: 3-4 ft. Perfect for any garden!

Summer Snow Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Summer Snow') is a deciduous shrub that grows 6-8 feet tall and wide. It has large, white flowers that bloom in summer. The leaves are green with cream margins.

Variegated Hydrangea is a broad term that refers to any hydrangea that has leaves with irregular patches of white or yellow. There are many different varieties of variegated hydrangea, but some of the most popular include:

  • Annabelle Variegated Hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens 'Innocence')
  • Limelight Variegated Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight')
  • Endless Summer Variegated Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Endless Summer')

Variegated hydrangeas are typically grown for their attractive foliage. The flowers are often smaller and less showy than those of non-variegated hydrangeas.

Both Summer Snow Hydrangea and Variegated Hydrangea are hardy in USDA zones 3-9. They prefer full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. They are relatively easy to care for and are drought tolerant once established.

Here are some tips for caring for Summer Snow Hydrangea or Variegated Hydrangea:

  • Water it regularly, especially during the first year after planting.
  • Fertilize it once a year in spring with a balanced fertilizer.
  • Prune it in late winter or early spring to remove dead or diseased branches and to shape the plant.
  • Protect it from winter winds and cold.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
