Sedum rupestre 'Angelina'

Description

Sedum rupestre 'Angelina', commonly known as Angelina Stonecrop, is a vibrant, mat-forming succulent prized for its brilliant golden-yellow foliage that adds striking color and texture to gardens year-round. The needle-like, fleshy leaves form dense, spreading mats that turn orange to coppery-bronze in cooler temperatures, creating seasonal interest.

This hardy and drought-tolerant plant is ideal for rock gardens, borders, containers, green roofs, and areas with poor or sandy soil. In early to mid-summer, it produces small yellow star-shaped flowers that attract pollinators like bees and butterflies.

Key Features:

  • Foliage: Golden-yellow, needle-like succulent leaves; shifts to coppery tones in fall and winter.

  • Flowers: Small yellow, star-shaped flowers bloom in early summer.

  • Growth Habit: Low-growing and spreading; typically 4–6 inches tall and up to 18–24 inches wide.

  • Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade (best color in full sun).

  • Soil: Prefers well-drained, sandy or rocky soil; tolerates poor soil and drought.

  • Hardiness: USDA zones 3–9.

  • Maintenance: Very low. Minimal water needs once established; may be trimmed to maintain shape.

  • Uses: Groundcover, edging, containers, rock gardens, green roofs, erosion control on slopes.

  • Wildlife: Attracts pollinators; deer and rabbit resistant.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
