Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine Plant

Description

Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine

The Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine is a popular variety of muscadine grape that is known for its large, flavorful berries. It is a vigorous grower and can reach heights of up to 20 feet. The Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine is also relatively low-maintenance and easy to care for.

Jumbo muscadine grapes are large, round fruits with a reddish-black skin and a sweet, juicy flesh. They are excellent for eating fresh, making jelly and juice, and baking. Jumbo muscadine grapes are also a good source of vitamins and minerals.

To grow a Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine, you will need to choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Muscadine grapes prefer a soil pH of 6.0 to 7.0. If your soil is not acidic enough, you can amend it with lime.

Once you have chosen a location, plant the grape vine in a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball. Water the vine well and mulch around it to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilize your Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine in the spring with a balanced fertilizer. Be careful not to overfertilize, as this can promote excessive vegetative growth and reduce fruit production.

Water your Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine regularly, especially during the first growing season. Muscadine grapes need about 1 inch of water per week.

Prune your Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine in the late winter or early spring to remove any dead or diseased branches. You can also prune the vine to shape it and control its size.

With proper care, your Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine will thrive for many years to come and produce delicious grapes for you and your family to enjoy.

Here are some additional tips for growing and caring for a Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vine:

  • Plant Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vines in groups of at least two for cross-pollination and better fruit production.
  • Protect Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vines from birds and other pests with netting or a cage.
  • Mulch around Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vines with pine bark, oak leaves, or other organic materials to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • Water Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vines deeply during periods of drought.

With proper care, Jumbo Muscadine Grape Vines will thrive for many years to come and produce delicious grapes for you and your family to enjoy.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
