An evergreen, trailing groundcover with 1" - 1½", green leaves. Commonly known as Wintercreeper. New tip growth turns burgundy in the Fall. Stems root along nodes. Excellent for erosion control. Rapid growth habit. Tolerates any well drained soil conditions. It is drought tolerant once established. Best used as a ground cover for large, hard to cover areas. It is a tough ground cover that will grow in most any condition. Euonymus 'Acutus' will climb. Useful to cover low walls. But not a good choice for a groundcover in beds with shrubs due to its climbing nature. Easily kept off trees when maintained. A good early Spring pruning improves appearance and maintains its ground cover quality. Can be pruned again mid season if needed.
