Dooley Hydrangea Macrophylla Plant

Description

Dooley Hydrangea is a stunning mop-head beauty with blue blooms that can take sun. Grown in various sizes, it thrives in growing zones 5-9 and is named after Coach Vince Dooley.

Dooley Hydrangea Macrophylla (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Dooley') is a mophead hydrangea that was named after former University of Georgia football coach Vince Dooley. It is a vigorous grower that can reach up to 6 feet tall and wide. The flowers are large and blue in acidic soils, but pink in alkaline soils. They bloom in July and August and can last for up to two months.

Dooley Hydrangea Macrophylla is a relatively easy plant to grow. It prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It is not as fussy about soil pH as some other hydrangea varieties, but it does best in slightly acidic soil. Dooley Hydrangea Macrophylla is drought tolerant once established, but it will benefit from regular watering during the summer months.

This hydrangea is a good choice for a variety of landscape applications. It can be used as an accent plant, in mass plantings, or as a hedge. It is also a popular choice for cut flowers.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
