Abelia Rose Creek

Abelia Rose Creek is a dwarf, evergreen shrub that is prized for its compact habit, showy flowers, and attractive foliage. It is a hybrid of Abelia x grandiflora and Abelia chinensis, and was developed by the University of Georgia in the early 2000s.

Rose Creek Abelia typically grows to be 2-3 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. It has a rounded habit of growth and dense, glossy foliage that emerges with a pinkish cast in the spring and turns a deep purple color in the winter. The flowers are small and tubular, with white petals that have a slightly pink tinge. They bloom in abundance from late spring to early fall.

Rose Creek Abelia is a relatively low-maintenance plant. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It is also drought-tolerant once established. Rose Creek Abelia does not require much pruning, but it can be pruned in the late winter or early spring to remove dead or damaged branches and to maintain its shape and size.

Rose Creek Abelia is a great choice for a variety of landscaping uses. It can be planted as a single specimen plant, in groups, or in borders. It can also be used to create a hedge or a privacy screen. Rose Creek Abelia is also a good choice for planting in containers.

Here are some tips for growing Rose Creek Abelia:

  • Choose a planting site that receives full sun to partial shade and has well-drained soil.
  • Amend the soil with compost or other organic matter before planting.
  • Water regularly, especially during the first growing season.
  • Fertilize in the spring with a balanced fertilizer.
  • Mulch around the base of the plant to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • Prune in the late winter or early spring to remove dead or damaged branches and to maintain the shape and size.

Rose Creek Abelia is a beautiful and versatile plant that is a great addition to any garden. It is easy to care for and can be used in a variety of ways.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
