4-In-1 Pear Cocktail Tree
A 4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Tree is a unique tree that has been grafted to produce four different varieties of pears on a single trunk. This is done by combining the rootstock of one variety of pear with the scions of four other varieties. The scions are the upper parts of the branches that contain the buds and leaves.
The four varieties of pears that are typically grown on a 4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Tree are:
- Bartlett
- Bosc
- Anjou
- Comice
These varieties are all popular choices for eating fresh, baking, and canning. They also have different ripening times, so you can enjoy fresh pears from your tree all summer long.
4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Trees are relatively low-maintenance. They prefer full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. They are also self-fertile, so you don't need to plant another pear tree nearby in order to get fruit.
To care for a 4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Tree, simply water it regularly, especially during the first year after planting. Fertilize it once a year in the spring with a balanced fertilizer. Prune the tree in the late winter or early spring to remove any dead or diseased wood and to shape the tree as desired.
With proper care, a 4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Tree can thrive for many years to come and provide you with a bountiful harvest of delicious pears.
Here are some additional tips for growing a 4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Tree:
- Mulch around the tree to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Protect the tree from deer and rabbits, which may damage the bark and branches.
- Inspect the tree regularly for pests and diseases, and take steps to control any problems that arise.
With a little care and attention, your 4-in-1 Pear Cocktail Tree will provide you with many years of enjoyment.
Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.
