Teardrop Ivy
Teardrop Ivy (Epipremnum aureum 'Teardrop') is a beautiful and easy-to-care-for houseplant that is known for its distinctive teardrop-shaped leaves. It is a low-maintenance plant that can tolerate a variety of conditions, making it a great choice for beginners and experienced plant parents alike.
Here are some tips for growing and caring for Teardrop Ivy:
- Choose a bright spot for your plant. Teardrop Ivy can tolerate low light conditions, but it will grow best in bright indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can scorch its leaves.
- Water your Teardrop Ivy regularly, but be careful not to overwater. The soil should be moist but not soggy. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
- Fertilize your Teardrop Ivy every few weeks during the spring and summer with a balanced fertilizer. Dilute the fertilizer to half strength before applying.
- Mist your Teardrop Ivy regularly to increase the humidity around the plant. This is especially important during the winter months when the air is drier.
- Prune your Teardrop Ivy regularly to maintain its shape and size. You can also prune it to encourage new growth.
Teardrop Ivy is a relatively pest- and disease-resistant plant. However, it is important to inspect your plant regularly for any problems. Common pests include aphids, mealybugs, and scale. Common diseases include powdery mildew and root rot.
Teardrop Ivy is a versatile plant that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be grown as a trailing plant, a climbing plant, or a hanging plant. It can also be trained to grow on a trellis or moss pole.
Here are some ideas for using Teardrop Ivy in your home:
- Place it in a hanging basket on your porch or patio.
- Let it trail down a shelf or bookcase.
- Train it to climb up a trellis or moss pole.
- Place it on a desk or table to add a touch of green to your workspace.
- Use it to create a living wall.
No matter how you choose to use it, Teardrop Ivy is a beautiful and easy-to-care-for plant that will add a touch of nature to your home.
Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.
