Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum Plant

Description

Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum is a stunning shrub with vibrant pink flowers. Grown in zones 7-10, it reaches 4-6 ft tall and wide. Perfect for adding color to any landscape.

Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum

Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum is a large, bushy evergreen shrub with rich reddish-purple leaves and bright red flowers. It is a cultivar of Chinese Fringe Flower (Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum), and is named for its resemblance to the popular Spanish sparkling wine sangria.

Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum grows to be 10 feet tall and wide, and has a rounded to spreading habit. Its leaves are elliptical in shape and about 3 inches long. They are dark reddish-purple in color and retain their color all year round. In spring, the shrub produces abundant clusters of bright red flowers, each with narrow, twisted, inch-long petals. The vibrant blossoms stand out against the dark evergreen foliage.

Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum is a relatively low-maintenance plant. It prefers full sun to part shade and well-drained soil. It is drought-tolerant once established, but it will benefit from regular watering during hot, dry weather. The shrub can be pruned to maintain its shape and size, but it is not necessary.

Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum is a versatile plant that can be used in a variety of landscape settings. It makes a bold statement as an accent plant, and can also be used in mass plantings, hedges, and borders. It is also a good choice for container planting.

Here are some tips for planting and caring for Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum:

  • Choose a planting site that receives full sun to part shade and has well-drained soil.
  • Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball of the plant.
  • Amend the soil with compost or manure before planting.
  • Place the plant in the hole and backfill with soil, tamping down gently to remove any air pockets.
  • Water the plant well after planting.
  • Water the plant regularly, especially during the first year after planting.
  • Fertilize the plant in spring with a balanced fertilizer.
  • Prune the plant as needed to maintain its shape and size.

With proper care, Sparkling Sangria Loropetalum will thrive for many years to come.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
