Coreopsis Mercury Rising PP24689 Plant

Description

Coreopsis Mercury Rising PP24689

Coreopsis Mercury Rising PP24689 is a patented variety of tickseed that produces large, velvety wine-red flowers with golden orange centers. It is a vigorous grower that forms wide spreading, well-branched clumps of bright green, narrow leaves. Coreopsis Mercury Rising blooms from early summer through early fall, and is known for its long blooming season and excellent heat tolerance.

Coreopsis Mercury Rising is a relatively new variety, having been introduced in 2016. It is a hybrid of Coreopsis rosea and Coreopsis verticillata, and is believed to be the first truly red-flowered coreopsis that is sterile. This means that it does not produce seed, and therefore does not need to be deadheaded in order to keep blooming.

Coreopsis Mercury Rising is a low-maintenance perennial that is easy to grow. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is tolerant of drought, heat, and humidity. Coreopsis Mercury Rising is also resistant to most pests and diseases.

Coreopsis Mercury Rising is a beautiful and versatile plant that can be used in a variety of garden settings. It is a popular choice for borders, beds, and containers. It can also be used in meadows, prairies, and naturalized areas.

Here are some tips for growing Coreopsis Mercury Rising:

  • Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil.
  • Amend the soil with compost or other organic matter before planting.
  • Water regularly, especially during the first year after planting.
  • Fertilize monthly with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season.
  • Pinch back the tips of the stems after planting to encourage branching.
  • Deadhead spent blooms to keep the plant blooming.
  • Overwinter in zones 5-9.

Coreopsis Mercury Rising is a beautiful and easy-to-grow perennial that is a great addition to any garden.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.

We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
