Manhattan Euonymus is a lush, green, fast growing Euonymus that might remind you of a Boxwood but on steroids. Growing twice as fast as a boxwood, use this as a robust growing hedge. Manhattan can be sheared more formally and kept at most any size if you like. They make excellent formal hedges that can be used to enclose a rose garden or form the outer walls of a garden room. Rounded, shiny green leaves stay on the plant year-round as it is a broadleaved evergreen, even up into hardiness zone 5. They can be grown in full sun through full shade which opens the door to many uses in the landscape. There are not many plants that can be grown successfully in either sun or shade. Left untrimmed, they get six feet in height and about six feet across very quickly. They grow branches all the way to the ground, so won't get "leggy" at the bottom. Your Manhattan Euonymus is an excellent candidate for an informal hedge making a great backdrop for a perennial border in sun or shade. A Manhattan hedge will also make a great natural backdrop for a colorful shrub border as well. They also make incredible specimen plants that can be sheared into a pyramid or even trained along a wall.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
