Lilac Sunday
Lilac Sunday (Syringa × chinensis 'Lilac Sunday') is a beautiful and popular lilac cultivar that is known for its profuse blooms of light purple flowers in the spring. It is a hybrid of the Chinese lilac (Syringa chinensis) and the Korean lilac (Syringa koreana), and was developed by the Arnold Arboretum in the late 1990s.
Lilac Sunday typically grows to be 8-10 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. It has a rounded habit of growth and dark green, glossy leaves. The flowers are borne in dense clusters on the branches and are a light purple color with a sweet fragrance. Lilac Sunday blooms in late spring, from late April to early May.
Lilac Sunday is a relatively low-maintenance plant. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It is also drought-tolerant once established. Lilac Sunday does not require much pruning, but it can be pruned in the late winter or early spring to remove dead or damaged branches and to maintain its shape and size.
Lilac Sunday is a great choice for a variety of landscaping uses. It can be planted as a single specimen plant, in groups, or in borders. It can also be used to create a hedge or a privacy screen. Lilac Sunday is also a good choice for planting in containers.

Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture.
