Hosta Shadowland 'Diamond Lake' – hosta
Hosta Shadowland 'Diamond Lake'
Description

Hosta Shadowland 'Diamond Lake' is a stunning large blue hosta known for its dramatic foliage and rippling texture. A standout in the Proven Winners® Shadowland® Series, 'Diamond Lake' features large, heart-shaped, powdery blue leaves with prominent veining and heavily wavy margins. Its thick, substantial leaves provide strong slug resistance and hold their beautiful blue color well into summer. With its bold texture and cool tones, this variety brings elegance and structure to shaded gardens.

Key Features:

  • Foliage: Large, heart-shaped blue leaves with deep veining and heavily rippled edges. Excellent leaf substance gives it a bold, architectural presence.

  • Mature Size: Grows 17–18 inches tall and 36–48 inches wide, forming a broad, elegant mound.

  • Flowers: Pale lavender flowers bloom in early to midsummer on tall scapes, offering soft contrast against the blue foliage.

  • Light Requirements: Best in part to full shade. Protect from strong afternoon sun to preserve the blue color.

  • Soil: Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil. Mulching helps conserve moisture and regulate soil temperature.

  • Hardiness: USDA zones 3–9.

  • Maintenance: Very low-maintenance. Thick foliage deters slugs. Can be divided every few years if desired.

  • Uses: Excellent for borders, mass plantings, or as a focal point in shaded beds. Its large, showy leaves also make it a good candidate for containers.

  • Series: Part of the Shadowland® Collection by Proven Winners®, chosen for premium leaf color, form, and durability.

Note
Please note that the plant will be shipped in its pot, securely fastened with multiple layers of clear tape to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. This ensures that the plant arrives to you with minimal damage, safely and securely. We have been employing this method for shipping plants for several years, occasionally using smaller pots for added safety and convenience during transit. It's important to understand that many plants enter a dormant state during the fall and winter months, resulting in the loss of most leaves and appearing dry or lifeless. This is a natural process, and come springtime, they will begin to regrow and thrive once again. Please be aware that due to regulations set by the Department of Agriculture, there are certain plants and sizes that we are unable to ship to California. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
