Carlcephalum Viburnum, also known as Fragrant Snowball, is a hybrid flowering plant in the family Adoxaceae (formerly Caprifoliaceae). It is a cross between V. carlesii and V. macrocephalum.
Carlcephalum Viburnum is a large, rounded, deciduous shrub with dark oval green leaves that turn a beautiful reddish-purple in the fall. In late spring, large rounded snowballs, up to 5 inches across (12 cm), packed with up to 100 pink buds open to delightfully fragrant, pink-tinged white flowers. Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring.
