Deep shade to partial shade
A great sasanqua camellia for the garden. This upright shrub is perfect for an informal hedge planting. It does not get too large so it is ideal for small gardens and can even be planted in a big pot. It prefers a protected partial shade avoiding hottest afternoon summer sun and winter frost. New leaf growth in the spring is an interesting burgundy color which turns into glossy dark green as the leaves grow and age. Pink flushed buds open to fragrant, semi-double snowy white flowers from November through December and make wonderful cut flowers. After flowering lightly prune plant if necessary to improve appearance.
Note: The plant is shipped in its pot, firmly secured with several layers of clear tape, thereby avoiding any shuffling and moving during transit. The plant reaches you with minimal damage- very safe and secure. We have been shipping plants like this for several years (plant are sometimes shipped in smaller pots for safety and ease of shipping). Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and will lose most of their leaves - looking dead and dry - very normal. They will flush out in spring. We cannot send ship some plants and some sizes to California due to restrictions placed by department of agriculture."
