Description
Flower buds are forming right now for next spring's show — University of Georgia Extension notes dogwood flower buds become visible by September, so what you see this fall is a preview of next year's bloom.
This red-bracted form of Cornus florida brings deeper color than the classic white native dogwood, on the same easy-care native tree Georgia is known for. Site it where it gets some shade rather than baking all-day sun — UGA Extension describes dogwoods as natural understory trees, and while dense shade cuts down flowering, so does full, unshaded exposure.
This container-grown tree can go in the ground any time with consistent watering. Keep watering through the dry fall months especially during its first year or two while roots establish.
Grown and shipped from our nursery in Conyers, Georgia, backed by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee and free shipping on orders over $29.
